San Francisco Jet Charter arranges flights for the technology companies that make this region what it is, and most of that work starts on the peninsula rather than in the city. Apple sits in Cupertino, Google in Mountain View, Oracle and Box in Redwood City, Cisco and Adobe in San Jose. For a client based anywhere along that corridor, Mineta San Jose International (KSJC) is usually the airport that makes sense, not San Francisco International.
The trips we see most
Board meetings and investor days that have to happen on a fixed date. Diligence trips where a team needs to be in three cities in two days. Customer visits into markets with no useful commercial schedule. Engineers moving with equipment that will not travel as checked baggage. Most of these are short-haul, and the Bay Area runs the same corridors over and over: Southern California, Las Vegas, Seattle, Scottsdale.
On that kind of routing a light or midsize jet is usually the sensible aircraft and the cheaper one. Your advisor will narrow the options against the passenger count, the baggage and the runway performance at both ends, then send you a short list.
Privacy, and what it actually means here
A pre-announcement diligence trip is not something you want visible. Passenger details and itineraries are shared only on a strict need-to-know basis, with the operator and the crew assigned to your flight. Nothing goes further than that.
If the trip involves hardware, tell us the dimensions and weight early. Some of it travels in the baggage compartment of a passenger aircraft and some of it needs a cargo charter, and that is a cheaper conversation to have before the quote than after it.
Timing around the Bay Area
Tower hours are the thing most people do not plan for here. Only San Francisco and Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport are towered around the clock. Hayward Executive closes its tower at 5 p.m. and Livermore is open only until 11 a.m. on weekends, so a late return into either needs thinking about. San Jose runs until midnight, which is part of why it carries so much of the corporate traffic.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
San Francisco-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Tower hours determine the trips more than anything else. Only San Francisco International and Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport are towered around the clock; Hayward Executive closes in the late afternoon, and Livermore runs weekday daytime hours with a short window on weekends. For an early departure or a late return, that difference decides the airport. Customs is narrow in this region too, with San Francisco, Oakland, Mineta San Jose and Monterey Regional the fields that clear international arrivals. Trips into the Sierra are their own case, where elevation and terrain shape the aircraft choice more than the distance does.
