Specialty In-Flight Catering

San Francisco Jet Charter can arrange in-flight catering on the aircraft we book for Bay Area clients, from a straightforward breakfast to a specific menu for a longer flight.

How catering works on a charter

Catering is ordered for your specific flight rather than chosen from a fixed airline menu. On a short hop to Southern California that usually means something light. On a longer run east or across the Pacific, a full meal service makes more sense, and the aircraft’s galley becomes part of the conversation about which aircraft to use.

What is possible depends on the aircraft and the operator. Larger cabins have more galley capability, and some smaller aircraft have very little. Your advisor will tell you what the specific aircraft can do rather than promising something the galley cannot support.

Tell us early

Upon booking your flight, please let us know prior to the quoting process if catering is something you require on your trip. Dietary requirements, allergies, children’s meals and religious requirements all need to be in the arrangements from the start rather than added the day before.

Local sourcing

The Bay Area and wine country are well served for this, and where a client wants catering from a particular restaurant or supplier, that can usually be arranged given enough notice. The constraint is the notice rather than the region.

Bringing your own

Some clients prefer to bring their own food or wine on board. That is usually straightforward on a domestic flight. On an international leg, customs rules at the destination may restrict what can be carried, so tell your advisor what you plan to bring and we will check it before you travel.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

San Francisco-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Tower hours determine the trips more than anything else. Only San Francisco International and Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport are towered around the clock; Hayward Executive closes in the late afternoon, and Livermore runs weekday daytime hours with a short window on weekends. For an early departure or a late return, that difference decides the airport. Customs is narrow in this region too, with San Francisco, Oakland, Mineta San Jose and Monterey Regional the fields that clear international arrivals. Trips into the Sierra are their own case, where elevation and terrain shape the aircraft choice more than the distance does.
